One of my hopes for 2014 is that I’ll take more time to savor the simple things. So, when I stumbled upon this mitten tree in City Park during a recent run, I paused for a few minutes to marvel at it. Which got me thinking about other make-me-stop homemade displays around the state. The, ahem, decorated trees on ski slopes. The ornament-laden evergreen in a ditch along I-70. And so on.
